I am very excited to be a member of the cutting edge OVA family. I have been in the education profession for over many years and I began as a business/computer teacher. Although, I did not officially become a guidance counselor until 2009, with six children at home, I guess you could say I’ve been at it for over twenty years.

My wife, Tonya, and I have been involved in homeschooling for about ten years. My spare time consists of my children’s activities: volleyball, soccer, basketball, flag football, dance lessons, and youth groups. I am here to help your family, so please do not hesitate to contact me.

Counseling at OVA is my dream job! Having been in education for fifteen years, I finally get to merge my experience teaching in a traditional high school, teaching and mentoring in online and alternative programs, and middle-school counseling all into one program! And, I get to do it with the best team of faculty and students!

Outside of work, I have spent several summers working at a residential summer camp. I enjoy fitness, cooking, being outdoors, exploring Detroit, and spending time with my family!

I look forward to working with all students to create a meaningful high school experience, plan for graduation, and assisting with college, career and scholarship opportunities.
