October 6, HS Listen and Learn Forums

Dear High School Parents/Guardians,

A series of forums are being planned in the coming weeks for us to discuss the Three Year Recovery Plan with our parents.  The goal of the Listen and Learn forums is to highlight strategies in the plan that pertain specifically to high school students and allow for families to ask questions to gain clarity and to provide feedback that may help us make revisions if needed.  Separate forum opportunities are being planned for elementary and middle school families.  In holding these forums, we recognize that our community is in a variety of places when it comes to healing, needs, and future goals. Additionally, each level (elementary, middle and high school) has a different perspective based on age and development of the students and experiences.

We ask that you review the Three Year Plan prior to attending the forum. A brief presentation will be provided that lifts up items/strategies that pertain to high school only, but a full review of the plan will not occur.  Discussions will be framed around three key questions: What is going well? What would you like to see different? What needs to be clarified?

In order to make the most out of the forum experience, there will be a limited number of seats (25) in each forum.  If you are interested in participating in a forum, please complete the form below. If needed, we will add additional dates to accommodate families.   The opportunities below are intended for families who currently have students in
high school. The OCS Superintendent, Ken Weaver, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Instruction, Steve Wolf, OHS Principal, Dacia Beazley and Executive Director of Student Services and Wellness, Todd Barlass, will facilitate the forums for high school families.  The three forums will be held during the following sessions:

  • Thursday, October 13 at 6:30pm in the OHS Media Center
  • Tuesday, October 18 at 6: 30pm in the OHS Media Center
  • Wednesday, October 19 at 6:30pm in the OHS Media Center

Sincerely,
